  • We come to bury ChatGPT, not to praise it.
My post was completely serious though. I checked duckduckgo, thefreedictionary.com, and windows search. None of them knew of this word. I don't use Google and am on a PC where long tapping is not a thing. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Is there a website for idiom antonyms?
Does anyone know of a website to find antonyms of idioms? All that's comes up in search results are literally antonyms for the word idiom. thefreedictionary.com has an idiom section and suggests similar idioms to which you have searched, but that's about it. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Are there any websites where I can search for "better" or "improved" ways of saying things?
I know that I know more, sometimes I forget I know it. thefreedictionary.com has a graphical Thesaurus. Take the word Good for example. It breaks it down into five words: Excellent, Sensible, Fine, Proficient, Positive. Then it has off-shoots for each of those five. I like it for the nuanced deceptions of how worlds are related. • what do you think about this?
Anyway, thefreedictionary.com is using an obsolete definition for adversion which used to mean "turn toward" or "give attention". Source: almost 2 years ago
  • I’m going to be a dad, what can I do?
Definition of life in thefreedictionary.com: The property or quality that distinguishes living organisms from dead organisms and inanimate matter, manifested in functions such as metabolism, growth, reproduction, and response to stimuli or adaptation to the enviroment. Try to tell me a single of this qualities that is not present in a human fetus. Spoiler: The reproduction one isn't viable because if it was,... Source: over 2 years ago

  • Need help solving a subtitles problem. The logic seems complex
Do fuzzy matching (something like fuzzywuzzy maybe) to see if the the words line up (allowing for wrong words). You'll need to work out how to use scoring to work out how well aligned the two lists are. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Thanks to this sub, we now have an Anki deck for Persona 5 Royal. Spreadsheet with Jp and Eng side by side too.
Convert the original lines to full furigana and do a fuzzy match. (For reference, the original line is 貴方がこれまでに得てきた力、存分に発揮してくださいね。) You can do a regional search using the initial scene data (E60) first, and if the confidence is low, go for a slower full search. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Fuzzy search
It's now known as "thefuzz", see https://github.com/seatgeek/fuzzywuzzy. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I made a bot that stops muck chains, here are the phrases that he looks for to flag the comment as a muck comment. Are there any muck forms I forgot about?
You can have a look at this library to use fuzzy search instead of looking for plaintext muck: https://github.com/seatgeek/fuzzywuzzy. Source: over 2 years ago
  • How would you approach this
To deal with comparing the string, I found FuzzyWuzzy ratio function that is returning a score of how much the strings are similar from 0-100. Source: almost 3 years ago
