The Best Websites for Finding a Private Campsite
Ideal for new campers, or folks looking for built-in comfort, Tentrr sites include a 10-by-12-foot canvas tent with a queen-size cot, fire pit, drinking water, sun shower, camp toilet, and grill. The 500 campsites are clustered in the Northeast, but Tentrr is expanding to the West Coast this summer.
Airbnb For Camping: These 4 Services Let You Rent Private Campsites.
While similar to Hipcamp and Gamping in that you’re camping on somebody’s private property, Tentrr operates a little differently. Each site is equipped, much like a hotel room, with a stand package of amenities that includes: a large canvas wall tent on a wooden platform, inflatable queen-sized cot, outdoor sun shower, picnic table, two lounge chairs, a camp toilet, stone...

  • Vans started parking outside my house. One is running a a generator tonight. How would you handle this?
Good bet it's on freecampsites.net . You could consider adding a review along the lines of "Hey, don't run your generators" and/or "Becoming too popular, got the knock at 3am.". Source: 5 months ago

For anyone looking for actually free, no strings attached (and no subscription) camping, check https://freecampsites.net/ instead. It's a community wiki of free camp sites, usually on federal lands of various sorts (National Forests and BLM lands often have primitive campsites with fire rings and not much else). It's great for travel around national parks, especially. But please do leave no trace, pack out what... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago

The water is the hard part unless you're fine camping with lots of people. Then I'll agree that Parker Canyon Lake, Madera Canyon or Patagonia are good for this. Without the water there are some great quiet spots outside of Tombstone or west along the i8. You can find them here: https://freecampsites.net/. Source: 10 months ago
  • Planning a trip to Oregon for camping soon
For camping in camp grounds, you can google that. For camping in the wilderness use http://freecampsites.net. Crime is in all of the cities. Portland just hits the news more. My nieces do this and are very happy with their living and... Source: 10 months ago
