I tell them they need to watch short videos, say from ed.ted.com, then do 30 mins of reading English, reading out loud to themselves. I say do this daily and ask about words unknown, or contexts, and see what happens. The ones who really want to learn come back speaking better english, after a while of course. I have done typed notes when retaking quizzes to get 100 with blankslate.io, and if your teacher doesnt hate you, you should see the transcript bar near the glossary, copying that and putting it in your notes is an easier way to access what was just talked about directly, while you do some other part of the unit.
