For anyone looking for a scientific calculator, I've been building TechniCalc since 2015 (although it was called SciLine back then). It features a visual equation editor; advanced maths features like imaginary numbers, matrices, and summations; and a unit converter and unit-based maths (e.g. 1 meter + 3 yards). It is paid, but it's one up front cost with zero subscriptions, and that purchase will also unlock it on... - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
(Self promotion) if people like the Casio style calculators, my app is heavily influenced by Casio’s scientific calculators. The editor works almost exactly like theirs, but it has a modern keyboard that’s optimised for touch screens. The rendering uses the LaTeX font too As well, you get a few dedicated modes, like unit conversion, date calculations etc. https://jacobdoescode.com/technicalc. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
I've just released an update to TechniCalc - my scientific calculator app. The new date mode lets you calculate the years, months, weeks, and days between two given dates. Heres' another way to look at it: since the idea of HN is to be intellectually interesting (https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&sort=byDate&type=comment&query=curiosity%20optimiz%20by:dang), repetition is the most important thing to avoid... - Source: Hacker News / 5 days ago
At least as far as Hacker News is concerned, I'd call htmx way more marketed. It has hundreds of HN submissions in the past year alone [0] including one that broke 1000 points, compared to Hotwire which is sitting at about 40 submissions in the past year [1], the most popular of which is this one. Authorities compel tech companies to hand over data and place backdoors. They typically abuse secrecy laws to avoid public backlash, but their public demands have gotten bolder since the Snowden disclosures. https://www.reuters.com/technology/cybersecurity/governments-spying-apple-google-users-through-push-notifications-us-senator-2023-12-06/... - Source: Hacker News / 7 days ago
Yes but please try to avoid repetition on HN. The GP's response was rude and broke the site guidelines but https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&query=hachyderm.io%2F%40inthehands&sort=byDate&type=comment does look excessive to me. - Source: Hacker News / 9 days ago
