This is such a wonderful abd helpful game-making platform,even for the beginners. And i know and I've played in the several games ,for example,which were made so thoroughly and carefully and also simply by using “UNITY” . So the game quality is just a matter of the programmer's skill,i think.

These are leaning more on the compositing side, but some features might replace those in AE pretty well, especially in case of Blender. Let me know if you were looking for something more on the animation side of things (well, I'm going to say Blender there as well, so let's not bother; however the only ones except Blender I'd recommend, are 2D-based, like Tahoma2D, a more pleasant tool than OpenToonz imo.
