There are many issues in operations that Syook aims to solve:
Contact tracing: With the outbreak of covid-19 it is very difficult to reopen factories or plants as various social distancing protocols should be in place to ensure a safe workplace for everyone. There is a need for solutions are monitor and track social distancing activities in real-time to ensure safety and security Employee distress: Various employees working in risky work environments are prone to accidents, health injuries and even death. Proper controls and tools are required to have active real-time visibility of all the employee activity and working status.
People Management: Any organization's backbone is its employees. Even a completely automated manufacturing plant requires humans to run, maintain, and update machinery, making human resource management a critical field in all innovative enterprises. In a facility where people are employed to operate equipment, move materials from one location to another, or be present at a vital workstation, even the tiniest of delays may have a big influence on output and personnel efficiency.
Contractor Management: Many factories use a variety of contract workers who are needed to work in certain areas. Each contractor has a distinct management style and a different charging methodology. It's critical to manage and keep track of the many contract vendors and personnel that are supposed to operate in certain regions and be paid by specified contractors.
aLogistics and supply chain management: The most crucial duty of logistics and supply chain is to move stuff from one location to another as quickly as feasible. To save time and boost revenues, it is critical to track the whereabouts of vehicles and drivers to manage plant logistics and supply chains at factories and warehouses.
Hazardous area management: Due to the nature of their activities, many industries are subject to stringent regulations and legislation. Any equipment that has to be deployed in these regions must have certain certifications based on the zone certifications. In crucial areas of any business, from zone-compliant chemical plants to the oil and gas industry, it is necessary to implement precisely tailored solutions. Our hardware is certified and rigorously tested to ensure that it performs well even under the most extreme environments.
Managing High-Value assets: Searching for mobile medical equipment in hospitals and material handling equipment in huge companies and warehouses wastes valuable time. Failure to locate these items promptly might result in not only a loss of valuable productive time but potentially a loss of life. To ensure that vital equipment is available at all times, it is critical to track it in real-time and determine its exact location inside a facility.

India elected a new Prime Minister and he wanted us to Make in India. So more out of FOMO than anything else, my co-founders and I decided to quit our jobs and return to India. Our thought process was, if we don't do it now, we will never do it. Saurabh was in Saudi, Aman was in Paris, and I was in the US. so it took over a year to actually move back and start something. Initially we were very naive. We thought since we have the ideas, execution will be really easy. We will just hire developers to build tech and they will do the needful. Needless to say, we failed spectacularly.
The founding team has a common mindset, we do not know how to give up. We certainly are not the smartest people around, but we are resilient. Finally out of complete frustration after making no progress for about 6 months, Aman and I reasoned that if we can extract oil from 5 kms under the earth, we can learn to build tech, and, We learned! I actually went to coding class at the age of 34 where most people were a decade younger than me. It took us some time to learn and build stuff. Fast forward 6 years and the product we have built is actually used by leading companies like Unilever, FIAT, ONGC among others. We faced great challenges during the 2 years of Covid, but now things are coming back and we are gaining traction, especially outside India.
Based on our record, Geekbot seems to be more popular. It has been mentiond 13 times since March 2021. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
We think GitReport could replace standup apps like Geekbot. So we're making it into a product. More Git features are coming, like tracking issues and pull requests. Source: 7 months ago
We run standups every day, however only 2x of them are a Teams call. The other 3 are run using a tool called Geekbot (Yes scrum masters do hate this) which is basically just a chatbot that sends you the standard standup questions and you can answer whenever you feel like it. This has helped our team heaps due to having such a huge mix of people in our team (Cloud Eng, Database Eng, Software Eng, Network Eng) that... Source: 10 months ago
My new job recently pulled in https://geekbot.com/ to handle stand ups. Answer a couple basic questions when you login, and they’re all sent to a central channel. I’m not big on that type of communication in general, but it takes maybe 30 seconds each morning. Source: about 1 year ago
We use Geekbot to help standups. The feedback from each dev goes into a channel, then we talk about things that need to be addressed or things we're working on. Source: over 1 year ago
Back in 2005, I remember working on startups running on Scrum principles. It worked well at the time, we where able to ship, grow the team, and move forward with a nice few-features-per-week cadence, working remotely, on a small team; less than 10. Tt always worked fine, but very slow, as all-dev-things were at the time. I worked with ActiveColab in 2007, Skype 2007, Yammer 2009, Trello 2011, Pivotal Tracker 2013,... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
