I agree if you are trying to hide from government and or law enforcement this is all futile, however I disagree that only they have access to this data. Companies like gravyanalytics.com, start.io, and heyirys.com all offer mobile location data for sale. There there use to be a stronger distinction between Text Editors and IDE’s. Of course there is a wide spectrum from something like ‘nano’ to Microsoft’s Visual Studio (not VScode) On macOS, BBEdit has had SFTP since the late 1990s.
