For all intents and purposes the game is already released. The whole thing is written in the present tense, with big play now buttons and like 2 small disclaimers saying "Note: Star Citizen Alpha 3.18 is currently available to download and play. I'm still on Windows 10 so I don't know if this feature is available natively, but you can install a start menu replacement like Start11 from stardock.com to bring back the feature. Source: over 1 year ago
