SpectroTime Reviews

  1. Native Windows App Similar to Clock but with Teamwork Possibilities, Analytics, and Screenshots

SpectroTime is a top recommendation for Windows users seeking a sophisticated time tracking tool that supports enhanced team functionality and insightful analytics. Ideal for managing both remote and in-office teams, it combines a user-friendly interface with powerful features to boost productivity

👍 Pros:    Teamwork capabilities. analytics and reporting. screenshot functionality
  2. SpectroTime is designed with simplicity in mind

It's as easy to use as any familiar app you already know, but with the added benefit of tracking your time and managing your tasks. You can start tracking your tasks right after it's installed - no complex setup is required.

👍 Pros:    Enables task creation and management directly from the desktop client, making it very convenient.
  3. We found SpectroTime when we were looking for a cheap way to keep track of our work hours, tasks, and take screenshots. It's great because it works just like some of the basic apps on Windows, which makes it easy to get used to. We really liked how it lets us connect time tracking with the tasks we're doing, and the screenshot feature is super useful, especially for keeping everyone honest about what they're working on. The app feels right at home on Windows, looking and working like the apps we're already used to. It's perfect for small teams like ours who want something straightforward and affordable. We've had a good experience with it and think other small teams would like it too.

    🏁 Competitors: Toggl, Hubstaff, Timely
👍 Pros:    Fits well with windows, similar to the clock app but with time tracking and screenshots|Lets you adjust settings to match how your team works.

  • Windows Software for Logging Expenses/Income
I tried to download and try Homebank (http://homebank.free.fr/) but Microsoft Defender SmartScreen through a fit due to "unknown publisher" and in virustotal the installer was flagged by 3 vendors (Bkav Pro, Gridinsoft (no cloud),Elastic) Probably false positives as it seems to be open source, but not sure if I want to risk it. • Gnucash – open-source accounting software for personal and small businesses
I use HomeBank [1] because I find the UI a lot simpler than GnuCash and importing mostly just works, with pretty good automatic category assignment that lets you use regular expressions. The only quirk is that one of my accounts uses a non-standard ordering for its csv file which needs fixing before HomeBank will accept it since the import UI is limited. I also find that it is useful to track the database file... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • GnuCash
I used to use HomeBank (http://homebank.free.fr), now just a LibreOffice spreadsheet. I think for personal finances, it's perfectly fine to just record monthly total expenses as a bulk sum, for each account. Unless 'something's off' (i.e. My family has spent too little or too much) it's okay to not know all the expense items. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
