13 best antivirus software platforms, per a cybersecurity expert
Sophos Home Premium costs $45 for all of your Windows and Mac devices and is “basic antivirus software that scans and cleans malware from your system, protects your privacy online, and has parental web filtering,” per Bader. Conveniently, there are no complicated add-ons and upgraded packages.

What Sophos Home Premium does have is the essentials: ransomware rollbacks, webcam defenses and protection against keyloggers, malicious websites and boot-sector and fileless malware. It also has a web-filter system for parents and an online management console from which you can tweak most of the settings.
9 of The Best Malwarebytes Alternatives in 2021
Sophos Home (Download Here) is one of the most common Malwarebytes alternatives that users have been switching over to. It is free of cost and you can try out the premium version as well for free days for free.
Best Free Antivirus Software 2022
Sophos Home is decent enough, but I've always run into problems using it. Several of the Premium tools available when you first download the program are either scaled back or completely cut off once the initial, 30-day trial is done, and you're left with just the free version. However, the tabs and links to these features remain on the dashboard. Sophos isn't easy to figure...

  • Virus Protection
Also, while anti-virus software is useful on computers, I would recommend not using them if you can as they can be very privacy invasive. Windows already has an AV program built-in which is actually decent now, and MacOS has three layers of protection to protect your Mac from malware. But if you really do want one, I'd recommend Malwarebytes or Sophos Home. Malwarebytes has a free version but that is only an... Source: about 1 year ago

Okay I figured it out. The problem occurs when you're only using the community rules for Snort. If you go to snort.org and register for a free or subscriber "oink" code, enter the code in pfSense and update the rules then it magically works as expected. My best guess is that unicode information get's added when the new rules are updated. At any rate, this worked for me. Source: over 1 year ago
