  • I Couldn't Be More In Love
I was reading an interview where he was dissecting the album ABIIOR and he had said that it was harder for him to sing more "intensely". Which is insane because he absolutely f***ing killed it. The emotion, the meaning, all of it. I thought it was such a heart stab when he said that he described the vocals as, " ...kind of guttural. I was really upset and scared. I feel like there's a hopelessness in the vocal... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Phoenix lyrics
Would love a book like that, mostly I just go the songfacts.com to see actual facts about the songs and the inspiration behind it. But Phoenix mostly keep to themselves the inspiration of most of their songs. But I have so many questions about so many songs. I would like to know what they actually meant like fences, armistice, run run run, sometimes in the fall, one time too many and much more... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Songs inspired by (or associated with) movies
"One" — According to songfacts.com the song was based on the 1939 novel Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo, which James Hetfield read. In a 1989 interview of Lars Ulrich, however, he seems to suggest that the band chose the video because it was similar in theme. According to this article, Het had the basic idea for the song, prompting their manager to suggest he read the book. In any case, book, movie and song... Source: over 1 year ago

  • Does anyone know if the flies in hey you are a synth or a sound effect?
Thanks! I thought you were joking because of Roger's This Is Not A Drill tour, but now I see this trivia that came to Wikipedia via songfacts.com: "...chief sound engineer, James Guthrie created the worm-eating sound effect by using the faintly audible sound of a hand-held power drill boring into an undefined material.". • I love synthesizers, but I suck at synthesis and sound design?
Then start researching what synths made those sounds. Read articles. Watch documentaries. Search forums. Youtube. Look up the gear on equipboard.com. Go to the library. Source: 10 months ago
  • [Question] Looking to buy my first guitar any suggestions?
Equipboard.com is a great resource for looking up what your favorites use. It's crowd sourced, but based on pictures, videos, and testimony from interviews and other places guitarists talk about their gear. Source: 10 months ago
  • Looking to start making music, gonna be taking some inspo from the guys. Jus wondering ab some of the equipment they use. Any help appreciated.
Also, don’t worry about the hardware they have when you’re starting out - all you will need is a computer or laptop and some headphones / audio interface + speakers. Performing is different ofc like v files show… Anything else is just preference for producing but software and plugins got it all rly these days (and is generally much cheaper). If you do care what they use then go on equipboard.com and you’ll find... Source: 11 months ago
  • Beginner first pedal recommendations (Line 6 Spider V20)
(Equipboard.com/)[https://equipboard.com/] will give you an idea about the equipment that famous bands use. There's always the MXR Dookie Drive, but that might be a bit pricey for you. For a simple, cost-efficient distortion, I would go with the Wampler Phenom. You can find a used one for less than $100. Source: 11 months ago
