We switched to ARCHLine.XP after exploring using ArchiCAD then Revit and exploring a few others. There was an initial struggle to get our minds around the interface and to it took a little time to redo our templates and set up our design office the way we liked. It had taken us many years to perfect things in our former software and it took about 2 weeks to transfer those settings to ARCHLineXP but it has been well worth it. With only a few exceptions such as creating new window types ARCHLine.XP is significantly faster and easier and more flexible for us and the initial pain of switching (which was great) is paying off every time we use the ARCHLine.XP so the experience has been a rewarding one all round.

Is it feasible to run this on something large like Solvespace[1] (CAD) which is ~5MB executable? Or would we just get an insanely long list of issues? I know you posted in the Freecad sub but you could also consider Solvespace for your modeling needs. It's opensource and much lighter on your computer resources and still quite capable. For your 3D printing needs, it might be good enough. Source: almost 2 years ago
