  • Who do we like?
These are my top: - recipetineats - the modern proper - pinch of yum - the defined dish - damn delicious - serious eats - cafe hailee - smitten kitchen - barefoot contessa - a cozy kitchen. Source: 11 months ago
  • seeking advice
Smitten kitchen is a longtime favorite, her recipe index on the website is amazing, she is also a busy mom and has some easy crowd pleasers that aren’t too dumbed down. Source: 11 months ago
  • Recommendations?
New York Times Cooking, Mark Bittman's How to Cook Everything, Smitten Kitchen, Souped Up Recipes, and various other cookbooks (especially Fuchsia Dunlop for Chinese). Source: 11 months ago
  • Where do you find good recipes?
Https://smittenkitchen.com/ - I've had success with everything that sounded good to me. Source: 12 months ago
  • Struggling with cooking/food and idealised view of parenting
Food blogs that really helped me when I started cooking were Simply Recipes (especially the older recipes written by Elise), and Smitten Kitchen (the latter I still swear by today, though some of the recipes are a little more complicated than beginner level -- still really approachable though!) Allrecipes was useful too, especially if you only look at the 4+ star recipes and read the top comments for tips. Source: 12 months ago

  • I just watched Dominion, what now?
If you're used to eating burgers, Impossible Foods makes awesomely meaty tasting plant-based burgers. Burger King uses them to make their "Impossible Whoppers," and a lot of people who like meat say they can't even tell the difference. Seriously they taste amazing. The mayo Burger King puts on them has eggs in it though, but you can order an Impossible Whopper without mayo and then add a vegan mayo substitute... Source: 11 months ago
  • Plant Based Food Recommendations
Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat are widely regarded as making the most realistic meat substitutes for people who like the taste of animal meat, and they are plant-based, but they are not whole food plant-based. Source: 11 months ago
  • Hey dudes, quick question
If you want something as close as possible to having the taste, texture, mouth feel, etc of animal meat, I would suggest you try Impossible Foods or Beyond Meat brand vegan meats. Source: about 1 year ago
  • King James vs New King James - Luke 8:55
I agree. I used to be quite flustered that the "meat offering" in Lev. 2 (KJV) does not even contain any meat. Kind of like our plant-based "impossible meat" today 🤣. Source: over 1 year ago
