Typora Reviews

  1. Simplicity and elegance

It is very well built with simplicity in mind. There are several themes and all of them look amazing. I love the "typewriter" and "focus" mode. In contrast with other apps that focus the current window and remove all visibility options, Typora goes one step ahead and fades down all other paragraphs as well.

  • Final Draft on Ipad / Android?
My general workflow for specs is to use a combination of two apps when I’m writing a first draft — I use Highland on my Mac (which is completely great) and Slugline on my iPad. Because they both speak Fountain, you can just cut and paste between them and preserve your screenplay formatting perfectly. Source: 10 months ago
  • What program should I use?
If you're using a Mac, you can keep using Fountain with a professional application. Beat is completely free. Highland 2 and Slugline 2 have limited free versions. I got an old Mac Mini to experiment with Beat and am impressed with it. But I like Linux so use Fountain-Mode in Emacs with 'Afterwriting. 'Afterwriting does produce professional screenplay PDFs.
