I've used Slate to document APIs which similarly will produce a local website. You can host that privately or there's built in support to push to github pages if you're hosting it in a github repo. Lately I've been messing around with one called mmm.page, it's pretty fun and focuses on capturing your own aesthetic. The paid plan to connect your domain costs 10 USD a month.
