  I made use of skyscanner.net, google.com/travel/flights and momondo.co.za to compare prices when purchasing tickets recently. I scanned those sights daily with added alerts for months as to find the best prices only to eventually purchase the tickets direct from the airline.   This might be a bit tricky from Sandakan and it is going to cost you. Scoot, Air Asia or Jetstar will be your best bet to Perth.
