A long time ago, I decided to build my home and chalet security system on Sighthound (https://sighthound.com) which lets me grab video via RTSP. I've got an extensive number of EZViz branded cameras which work well for this purpose, both internal and outside, grabbing the H.264 stream. Source: about 2 years ago
