  • Shortcut for rotating canvas by 15° left or right without a mouse
I don't like using my mouse while drawing and I couldn't find how to do this anywhere, but luckily when I was about to give up I achieved it! So, for this you'll need a program called SharpKeys. You can download it here: https://github.com/randyrants/sharpkeys/. Source: 5 months ago
  • Caps Lock Behaviour Disabled in Gnome
Sharpkeys can swap keys, the readme says as much: > Things that SharpKeys will do: > ... > Allow you to swap two keys with each other - e.g. You can swap Left Windows with Left Control and vice versa I do have a vague recollection of Sharpkeys previously saying that it couldn’t, but that I tried and it worked. Long time since I last used Windows though. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
  • Total Commander
    > Total commander isn’t FOSS. I'm aware of that. There are lots of FOSS equivalents, though. Including, I believe, on Windows. Wikipedia lists 23 of which I think -- haven't checked -- the majority are FOSS. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_manager#Orthodox_file_managers > Ironically windows 11 can’t do vertical taskbars. True. Easily fixed with Explorer Patcher, though. Which, ironically, is FOSS. > And... - Source: Hacker News / 8 months ago

  • Binding a single key on release AND binding that same key in another combination
Don't know about i3, but you can achieve this in Linux/X11 using for example xcape: https://github.com/alols/xcape. Source: 12 months ago
  • Keyboard shortcut on key release
I guess that xcape is what you're looking for. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How to assign Overview to meta ?
You can use xcape (I assume xorg only; https://github.com/alols/xcape) to set any key including super/meta to trigger a custom keyboard shortcut on release. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Have you remapped CTRL and ESC, and if so, how?
Caps Lock is both Control and Escape depending on whether you hold or tap it. I use xcape. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Have you remapped CTRL and ESC, and if so, how?
My CapsLock is an Esc right now. I use to use xcape program which would allow my caps lock to act as Esc when pressed alone, but in combination with another key it would act as Ctrl, which was very useful. That program no longer works on Wayland compositors but I have lost the habit of using the key as Ctrl anyway. Source: almost 2 years ago
