Sharing is easy When you upload a screenshot, a link is automatically copied to your clipboard. You can paste this link in an email or IM conversation. The other person simply clicks the link and sees your screenshot.
Use your own server ScreenCloud supports uploading to FTP and SFTP servers, enabling fully self-hosted screenshot sharing. If you provide a URL to your server, ScreenCloud will automatically copy a link to the uploaded file.
Plugin Support ScreenCloud can be extended with plugins to support a wide range of cloud services. A lot of these plugins are open-source and can be found on GitHub.

I've been using https://screencloud.net/ for the past few years. Custom file naming rules, you can upload to your own FTP server, then it will automatically copy a link to the file. Works perfectly for sharing and archiving screenshots. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
Never really messed with that, I use Screencloud for my needs. Custom hotkeys + the capability of uploading them automatically to an FTP server. The in-built Windows one might be pretty solid for most use-cases though. Source: almost 2 years ago

/u/slugshead mentioned Xibo. They've discontinued Pi-compatible versions but run on a lot of other things. Player(client) licenses per major version are perpetual, or at least very long. I've seen some weird issues with them, don't know if it's fixed (mostly has to do with display scaling, probably related to the consumer-grade smart TVs I have to run it on). There are several roll-your-own. For example, Xibo. To get it totally free, you'll need to fire up a Linux master server, then learn the UI for creating content. Source: about 2 years ago
