  • Identifying a sound from soundboard
I am trying to figure out how to make sounds similar to the "Keys" section on this soundboard. I'm new to music production and I would love to learn how to make something that sounds similar as part of the learning process, but don't even know where to start dissecting a sounds like this! • Show HN: Typebeat: Keyboard-controlled music sequencer, sampler, and synth
Really cool, and I think I might use or integrate this, but I agree with > I find this tool an interesting concept, but I couldn't get through the initial step to create a 4/4 kick loop. There's too much internal state going on with no indicators about what's active or what mode I'm in that it feels more like a memory game than a fun music toy. Or maybe it'd be like using one of those online beat generators, but instead of dragging over from a fully opened menu you have to unlock them. https://splice.com/sounds/beatmaker or http://sampulator.com/. Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Found out I’m pregnant and it’s already too late.
There are some, I've seen Periodical on F-Droid before, but I saw now there's another one called drip. Probably more out there, but both of those are also available on Google Play for people who aren't FOSS nerds like me. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I'm looking for a self-hosted period tracker / pregnancy planner for my wife.
Do you really need it hosted? Is a private app enough? For example, on Android, there's Periodical and I think it doesn't even have the internet access permission. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Everything is fine.
If you have an Android device, Periodical is a simple tracking app that does not have Internet permission so it literally cannot share your data. You can back up its data to a text file to restore if need be, and keep that backup off your device. However, if your phone backs itself up to "the cloud" you could still incriminate yourself.
