  • Ok, I've migrated email to selfhosted
Spamassassin or rspamd or ASSP. All very good. Spamassassin just works, but you need to feed it a good cohort of spam and ham (about 1000 messages each). Most people only send it the spam which will then bias it quite a bit and not have it classify spam as spam unless it's the worst of the bunch. Spamassassin is a filter for your mail server. Rspamd is the same idea. ASSP is highly configurable and a proxy. Source: 10 months ago
  • SpamMail
Https://rspamd.com/ is what we use on our mail servers blocks around 60% of incoming emails some get thu but not a lot. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Tell HN: Gmail's spam filters have gone bonkers
Definitely. I think Gmail spam filtering has just gone haywire with way too much input, ChatGPT style sales pitches, and too much clutter. At Skiff (https://skiff.com/mail), we use RSPAMD (https://rspamd.com/), an open-source spam filtering framework. It's not as sophisticated, but it is highly explainable and works consistently. I much prefer this + inbox rules to anything else. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • DKIM Migration: Rpamd instead of DKIMproxy out on OpenBSD / OpenSMTPD
When I installed Rspamd with on OpenBSD / OpenSMTPD the other day, DKIMProxy out (dkimproxy_out daemon), which had been got via OpenBSD Ports package system, was used to add DKIM signatures to mails in order to improve security on emails. - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago
  • Rspamd monitoring with OpenBSD relayd
Well, Rspamd includes web interface to monitor its performance. I combined it with relayd. - Source: dev.to / almost 3 years ago

  • How to use efficiently IPSET with CSF Firewall
In this post we will discuss how to use efficiently IPSET with CSF (ConfigServer Security & Firewall) Firewall. Unfortunately, I will not discuss what CSF is because it's not within the scope, but you can read about it here. - Source: dev.to / about 2 months ago
  • cPanel license add-ons - worth it?
At the very least, the free ConfigServer CSF is a more robust firewall addon that blocks brute force attempts, mod security failures, and so on. It's relatively easy to install, has a ton of options, and it's easy to whitelist IPs if your users have trouble. The same dev has a virus & malware scanner that's available as a one-time purchase. • Firewall Management
Seems like a GUI wrapper (other than the graphs) so may not solve the OPs issue of things like Docker complicating the firewall. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Do Windows and Router firewall enough for protection?
You should not have ANY ports on the home network open to the outside. NONE. If you insist on running a public-facing service at home, use a VPS with an ARGO tunnel. No SQL ports should be open to anywhere, not even on a private net. Use SSH tunnels to access if needed. As long as everything is closed to the outside, a consumer-grade firewall, along with every node on the home network protected by Configserver... Source: over 2 years ago
