Rspamd VS ConfigServer Firewall

Spamassassin or rspamd or ASSP. All very good. Spamassassin just works, but you need to feed it a good cohort of spam and ham (about 1000 messages each). Most people only send it the spam which will then bias it quite a bit and not have it classify spam as spam unless it's the worst of the bunch. Spamassassin is a filter for your mail server. Definitely. I think Gmail spam filtering has just gone haywire with way too much input, ChatGPT style sales pitches, and too much clutter. At Skiff (https://skiff.com/mail), we use RSPAMD (https://rspamd.com/), an open-source spam filtering framework. It's not as sophisticated, but it is highly explainable and works consistently. At the very least, the free ConfigServer CSF is a more robust firewall addon that blocks brute force attempts, mod security failures, and so on. It's relatively easy to install, has a ton of options, and it's easy to whitelist IPs if your users have trouble. The same dev has a virus & malware scanner that's available as a one-time purchase. You should not have ANY ports on the home network open to the outside. NONE. If you insist on running a public-facing service at home, use a VPS with an ARGO tunnel. No SQL ports should be open to anywhere, not even on a private net. Use SSH tunnels to access if needed.
