RoundCube RoundCube Webmail is a PHP webmail client that will work with a MySQL or Postgres database. 5 open source webmail clients for browser-based email
I really like Horde's mobile UI, and the mail client was pretty easy to install separate from the rest of it. SquirrelMail and RoundCube are challenging to use on a mobile device. RoundCube has a supposed mobile plugin but I could not get it to work.

Mailfence Reviews

  1. Superb user interface, very simple to operate with, all in all a great platform.

I am client since 3 years now, and they recently updated the platform's User Interface, which I'm very happy with. I have a peace of mind, have integrated it for all of my business email accounts (for my employees, etc). Also private use. Also, its suite of tools is complete and fully convenient. Highly recommended!

    🏁 Competitors: Gmail, ProtonMail
👍 Pros:    Tools integrations|Easy user interface|Great customer support|Great value for the money
    👎 Cons:    Costly pro plan
  2. Awesome google alternative!

No complaints or issues with Mailfence whatsoever, I have been switching between different google alternatives for the past year now, and so far I have stayed with Mailfence the longest. Hands down the best support system I have seen so far. Quick responses and really friendly.

As for features and design, they are still improving and adding things. One of the best things is that you dont need to download anything to take advantage of the end-to-end-encryption. At the moment I am really satisfied with how everything looks and feels. It's hard to say what the product will look like in say 2 years, but it's really nice seeing a product evolve like that and being part of the journey.

    🏁 Competitors: FastMail, ProtonMail, Tutanota
    👍 Pros:    Privacy|Great customer support|Encryption
  3. Privacy, convenience and shitload of features

I started using Mailfence a while back i was a free user at first but soon i found out that was a bit limited then i subscribed to the Entry subscription just to see if it would make any difference. The value that I got was immense for just 2.50$/month I get IMAP support, tons of storage for files and emails. Support also is top-notch really helpful and always willing to help they reply within minutes. Overall I think it's a really cool alternative to Google's Gmail,g drive and G calendar.

    🏁 Competitors: CounterMail
    👍 Pros:    Privacy concisous|Fast support|End to end encrypted|Two-factor authentication

  • Proton Mail says Outlook for Windows is Microsoft's new data collection service
I have tried several, and liked none of them. I'm currently on Geary, but it's lacking in functionality, and it has things like search results being a bit different upon each of my searches. Starred messages cannot be shown on top. Eyeroll. I think Evolution and Thunderbird are the top contenders, and of the self-hosted ones, Roundcube. https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Geary https://roundcube.net/. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • Universal Inbox / Email Client
You could try a standalone email client like Mozilla's Thunderbird, or if you're experienced running a web server, you could check out something like Roundcube. I suppose you could even run it locally if you're familiar with PHP and/or Docker. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Thunderbird 115 Supernova Preview: The New Folder Pane
What I really miss is a "web companion" for Thunderbird, basically something like https://roundcube.net/ or https://www.horde.org/apps/webmail, but a bit more powerful and with better UX. I'd like to use a Google Addressbook within such app, for example (there is a completely outdated plug-in for RoundCube). Another important thing would be powerful and fast search. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago
  • I Want To Serve My Email Locally From My Linux Server With a Web-Based Interface
Alternatively if you want to keep what you have I wouldn't recommend using the SoGO even though it's the nicest and most modern option. Mainly because it's a full groupware client and will require a lot of configuration. Instead using Roundcube is probably your best option. Source: over 1 year ago

  • Short domain (mf.me)
I have activated the short domain (mf.me) , but I have a lot of email filters that filter my incoming mail by which alias they are using. I'm wondering if I have to reenter all of the aliases with the mf.me domain in my filters or whether the filtering system will automatically filter the incoming email regardless of which domain is used (mailfence.com or mf.me). Security, privacy, and anonymity are three concepts crucial to Mailfence. Our email suite has been designed to take all three into account, making it a unique solution.
