  I'm in no position to give advice but I felt that having a good CV and people skills definitely helped me. I used resume.io for my CV and cover letter, and can definitely recommend it. For programming ,apart from tutorials the thing that helps best is practice , If you want to practice then I recommend hackerrank.com to test your understanding of programming concepts.
