I use https://reroll.co, since it has pixel art I can assign to items and deck my character out to look like a badass with what I've looted. Takes some work to import all the non SRD stuff but it works great! Plus it's only a cheap single purchase that gets cheaper per code for each copy you get at once. The Character Creator has a license wherein if you use it for non-commercial products (ie - a free game) you can do whatever more or less, and if you are using them for a commercial product a license to do so starts at $5.
