  • How do I switch from qwerty to dvorak fast?
If you can type the pangram the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog without looking at your keyboard, then you know where all 26 letters of the alphabet are on the Dvorak layout. That means that you no longer have any need for the beginner websites such as typing.com or typingclub.com or ratatype.com and can instead move onto the second of the two phases of learning to type. The second phase is one that... Source: 10 months ago
  • What websites are best for getting better at typing?
There are sites like typing.com, typingclub.com, ratatype.com, typingstudy.com and keybr.com which are all designed to help people learn to touch type. Their purpose is to take someone who has to look down at the keyboard and "hunt and peck" at the keys in order to type, and get them to the point where they don't need to look at the keyboard at all when they type. • Will touch typing get me faster?
That's great. That means that you will be able to pick up proper touch typing really quickly. It's going to feel really slow at first. It's going to feel really awful. But it will get better quickly. ratatype.com is pretty good, but to be honest, all these sites and pieces of software are very similar as there is only so much that can be said about learning to type. • my friend never heard of touchtyping and still manages to pass me.
Whilst your friend may not have been aware of the "home row" technique taught on typing.com and typingclub.com and ratatype.com your friend might have already been able to type pretty quickly using their own less conventional method. Source: about 1 year ago
  • i skipped ahead and cheesed the final lesson of typing club using two fingers. is typingclubs home row style worth learning anyway?
If you read any typing guide or watch any video on the subject, the first thing thta they all say, and the first thing that they all agree on, even if there's a whole bunch of things they don't agree on, is that you should follow something like typing.com, typingclub.com, ratatype.com or keybr.com to learn to touch type with all your fingers and so that you never have to look down at the keyboard. • What websites are best for getting better at typing?
There are sites like typelit.io that will let you type entire books. Source: 12 months ago
  • How much practicing is ideal? What is your routine?
It can't tell the difference between me practicing on Klavaro, or problemwords.com or typelit.io or any other typing website. It's just typing words over and over again. Consider that the 100 most common words in the English language make up approximately 50% of all words that have ever been written and you start to understand what I mean by repetition. • They're not "digital natives," they're "click natives."
Type racer and https://typelit.io/ were the ones I used with both groups. Source: about 1 year ago
