I was messing around with a guitar, a USB interface, and a software called https://rakarrack.sourceforge.net/ (I don't know if it is available on windows) and it was a lot of fun! The trick is, how are you going to trigger? Touch sensitive surface? Rear-mounted camera (a la the Reactable)? Other camera?
