Try QTTabbar. Adds a lot of features to windows explorer including tabs (disable tab bar if using with windows 11 with native tabs in explorer) After installation enable the toolbars from View -> Options (or use the enabler app on windows 11). Source: 5 months ago
False. It is not the only software, I use Qttabbar since Windows 7 and thanks to it I have tabs that I can customize, and they are more useful than the native tabs. Source: about 1 year ago
About tabs, since Windows 7 I use tabs in the file explorer thanks to Qttabbar. Qttabbar tabs are customizable and more useful than native tabs. I had to use vivetool to permanently disable native tabs, and instead I use Qttabbar tabs. You can download tab skins within Qttabbar or you can create your own tabs. Forklift is what I use though never with that many files in a single directory. I know I have used it for ones that had 1000+ files with no slowness. It has a free trial so give it a try. Source: 12 months ago
Heh, I've been there as well a decade ago when switching from windows to macos. Far manager was also the first program I'd also install on any box. I can assure you, this will eventually pass :) To be fair, far is also not a match to modern file browsers like https://binarynights.com (forklift), especially if you need s3 integration etc. - Source: Hacker News / 12 months ago
