  • What is the best german dictionary to use on a phone?
I use PONS often, because it gives you multiple definitions, example sentences, a quick overview of the grammatical information you may need and also in my case it also includes a German<->Greek dictionary which sometimes help me understand the meaning better or allows me to find a word in German that I also lack in English. • difference of ansehen and sehen
Machine translators like google translate (or the superior deepl.com) are good tools to get the gist of a text in a foreign language, but they're not ideal learning tools. I would suggest to use an actual dictionary like leo.org, dict.cc, or pons.com when it comes to word definitions and distinctions between alternatives. Source: over 2 years ago

  • blithely. I love it. What do you think?
I've found some words on wordnik.com that weren't in my regular dictionary, so I'm using it if they aren't in there, but I really use TheFreeDictionary.com for everyday use. It has a pretty good thesaurus plus legal and medical stuff too. Source: almost 2 years ago
