Pocket Reviews

Del.icio.us is closing down. Time for a roundup of alternative bookmark managers.
It's a bookmark manager for people who don't like graphical interfaces, and value speed and privacy. There are no ads and no third-party tracking. You can connect and sync Twitter, Instapaper, Pocket and similar services.

Raindrop.io Reviews

XMarks is Dead on May 1st, 2018 : firefox
The Raindrop.io seems to work, but when I go to sort by name, there are some sites that are not sorted by name. For instance on my bookmark bar Yahoo! shows up before reddit in Raindrop.io

Xmarks Discontinued on May 1st: Here are 7 Xmarks Alternatives to Try
Raindrop is a freemium bookmark manager that is available on all platforms, browsers, and OS. Raindrop is available in two flavors. The free version will allow you to save and sync bookmarks across devices and OS. The paid version, for $3 a month, will allow you to find and delete duplicate entries, have nested collections, use tags, and check for broken links.

3+ Best XMarks Alternatives For Bookmarks Synchronization Across Multiple Browsers
The only thing that I didn’t like about Raindrop.io was that it didn’t automatically synchronize the browser bookmarks. For automatic synchronization, you will need to save your bookmarks using Raindrop.io extension.

  • My top 5 favorite newsletters to keep up with frontend development news
I usually just scan through the newsletters and save the links I want to read in pocket. Then I try to block a 30min session in my calendar 2-3 times a week to actually read the things I save. - Source: dev.to / 16 days ago
  • Transfer Chrome and Safari tabs
You can use Pocket to save links to your Reading List. It's a chrome extension and it will only sync links when you save it to your it. So you can say save a Pocket link on your Chrome for Mac and instantly access it on your Windows PC. Here is the link: https://getpocket.com/. - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago
  • LPT: Use the Save to Pocket extension to read paywalled articles
By using the app: https://getpocket.com/ you can integrate the extension for your browser. When you visit any website, you can save it. Similar to Bookmarks or Favorites, but cross platform. There's an app for iOS and Android, too. If you add an article to your "Pocket", you can view it within your list in plain text - removing all ads, paywalls, etc. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • New Libra H2O Owner Since my Oasis was Crushed.
You can use getpocket.com , which syncs to the Kobo reader. Many use IFTTT or Zapier to automatically add relevant news to your pocket list which then syncs across. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • We Walk Among You
Dunno if that's any help but I utilize Pocket (but there are other programs of that type) that keep articles in a nice, readable form for later reading. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago

Raindrop.io mentions (39)

  • Tools for documentation
I use raindrop.io and jira with the zeph plugin, with automation rules within jira for tagging and searching, plus you can get a free jira! - Source: Reddit / 11 days ago
  • Obsidian vs ‘oldschool’ note apps
Have you try to use https://raindrop.io ? :). - Source: Reddit / 18 days ago
  • If I open a new tab why do I have to click on it to view it? Why won't Chrome just open it? Help!
I don't see anything either in basic Chrome. But as for at least opening saved bookmarks, you have the (last resort?) option of moving to an external bookmarks manager extension that does what you want. My premium bookmark manager ( raindrop.io ) does this, for example. - Source: Reddit / 22 days ago
  • Raindrop.io, booky.io, or...? iOS/macOS Bookmark
I currently user raindrop.io, but Ive slowly migrated quite literally everything else to [F]OSS solutions where possible, removing the free aspect there as I support pretty much every privacy-concious app I now use. - Source: Reddit / 24 days ago
  • Apps/Websites I can use for Online Classes?
You can use Raindrop to organize your bookmarks in a really intuitive manner. For saving notes, I recommend Trello or Simplenote . - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago
