  • Looking for new email service and password manager
I use pobox.com for email (I have my own domain); it's related to fastmail.com, and I'm very happy with it. It does cost $50 a year though, so maybe iCloud email would be a good choice. If you get iCloud+, you can use the enhanced security features. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Thanks to Bitwarden, I'm conquering my biggest fear of switching email providers.
I moved to pobox.com and couldn't be happier. Source: over 2 years ago
  • What email provider do you use?
I use pobox.comVery satisfied and it has a great web interface (IMAP available, too). Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Mail Provider pobox.com inaccessible by ipv6 even with NAT64
So far pobox.com is the only one not working. I have tried amazon and twitter, and of course reddit, and they seem to be working ok. Source: about 3 years ago
  • Mail Provider pobox.com inaccessible by ipv6 even with NAT64
I am behind a NAT64 and I just loaded https://www.pobox.com/ fine, so I would check that you do not have MTU blackhole issues. Clamp the MSS to lower in your router and see if that helps, particularly if you are using PPPoE. Try running "curl -Lv https://www.pobox.com/" in the command prompt and see what it says. Feel free to take a dump with Wireshark and filter it down with ipv6.addr == [IPv6 synthetic address... Source: about 3 years ago

AnonAddy offers a similar product and they're open source, just read their Blend Into The Crowd section. Source: 12 months ago
  • Ask HN: Would you pay for a SaaS even if its open source and can be selfhosted?
I use anonaddy [0] because it's open source and self-hostable [1]. I don't have to worry about the service going under or jumping the shark, since I can always just self-host it on my own hardware and import my config should that happen. Of course I'd much prefer to pay someone else to run it, especially in the case of mail servers where self-hosting is notoriously tedious.
