  I have tried something like this before using obs ,i just used my phone and a usb c to hdmi cable to the capture device from phone to computer.i cant remember what I copied I just remember it was netflix and I had to start obs recording a few seconds before and after recording.i think I recorded in 1920x1080 and it worked fine.i only did it like once or twice since I discovered playon.tv .when I bought that... • How can I remove the DRM of episodes/movies downloaded from Disney+ on Android?

  Have you looked at playon.tv it was a life saver for me when I wanted to download movies from my streaming sites I have a subscription too. It esentially just records the video in 720 or 1080 its a paid service but I find it works very well.so you might look at the other options to that have been listed here besides mine.i just wanted to add mine because it has really helped me. • Can't cancel Playon Cloud

  This appears to open Safari to playon.tv but the page is black. Closing the page or touching the back arrow takes me back to the Playon app. I don't see any way to cancel the plan. Anybody know what to do now? Source: almost 3 years ago

• terrible quality recording

  That definitely doesn't look like a standard movie site that playon.tv supports and they'd discontinued the screen capture portion of their app a few downgrades ago. You've got a ton of apps running, perhaps even several tabs within each open browser, have you tried recording with fewer apps running to see if this changes the recording quality?   Downstairs is a Raspberry PI hooked to large hard drive (8TB). That runs OSMC and provides network access for all computers/phones in the house while being hooked up to the living room TV. The IPTV can run through it but I just watch that on my computer. Source: about 1 year ago

  Just put osmc on it and use it as media center. Depending on your hardware it can be pretty solid. And there is a lot you can configure. it's basically an os which boots direcly to kodi. Also it supports hdmi-cec so you can use your normal tv remote, it's awesome. Source: over 1 year ago

• Can someone suggest a Smart TV like distro?

  From what I know there aren't many options for this use case, and those that I know of (like OSMC or Plasma Bigscreen) all run on ARM devices like Raspberry Pi, but not x86/64. I would recommend the same as other commenters: to just use a normal distribution and put something like Kodi on it. You could probably configure the system to automatically start up whatever UI you prefer to make it more seamless. Source: about 2 years ago
