Periodical mentions (3)

  • Found out I’m pregnant and it’s already too late.
There are some, I've seen Periodical on F-Droid before, but I saw now there's another one called drip. Probably more out there, but both of those are also available on Google Play for people who aren't FOSS nerds like me. Source: about 2 years ago
  • I'm looking for a self-hosted period tracker / pregnancy planner for my wife.
Do you really need it hosted? Is a private app enough? For example, on Android, there's Periodical and I think it doesn't even have the internet access permission. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Everything is fine.
If you have an Android device, Periodical is a simple tracking app that does not have Internet permission so it literally cannot share your data. You can back up its data to a text file to restore if need be, and keep that backup off your device. However, if your phone backs itself up to "the cloud" you could still incriminate yourself. • Reading. One. Word. At. A. Time
Spritz does pretty much just that - take the content on a page and shows a popup with just one word at a time. https://spritz.com/ I find my eyes to feel a bit strained after using this for a while though. Source: about 1 year ago

A way better version of this is https://spritz.com/ but the principle is the same. Source: about 1 year ago

I see you're providing several different ways to read. Have you considered adding something like https://spritz.com (there are many clones as well). I find it really helps with reading speed, but it's never something I remember to use. I think if it was integrated with a service people were already using it would be a nice value add and easier for people to work it into their workflow. Source: over 1 year ago

I have a similar app as well called spritz. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Does this help anyone?
The effect is almost as good as the one through spritz or similar apps which isolate words from the "visual/sensory noise" of surrounding text. Source: about 2 years ago
