  I got my passport renewed a few months ago and actually used a company online that can use a photo you take with your phone and add in a white background and such. I was really happy with it.   If you want something more specific for client proofing, Picflow is AWESOME for this. It allows clients to draw and comment on photos to more specifically show you want they want fixed.
