   A great password management tool

   I moved from 1Password to Bitwarden about half a year ago. I never looked back, and I've never missed anything. The UI might be a touch clunkier than 1Password, but it's still good and perfectly usable on the whole. What is more, it is open-source and people can inspect its code.

• How to prevent 2FA + pw vault deadlock lock-out

  My password manager is secured using GPG. It's encrypted with two keys, one of which lives on my Yubikey (to access my passwords on my phone) and the other of which is on my desktop (as a backup). Presumably, the only way I'd get locked out is if my Yubikey is lost/stolen/broken and my desktop stops working and my local backups aren't working. In other words, not very likely at all. • Did I mess up?

  I just noticed today when relogging in on Bitwarden (I couldn't sync my vault) that it said "Logged in as [email] on __$2__" instead of "Logged in as [email] on bitwarden.com". I don't know why or how that happened, and I have no idea what it means. Did I screw up somehow? Just to be clear, I did login and just after I logged in my brain realized that it said "__$2__" instead of what it should say. Source: 5 months ago
