   Very secure, straightforward,and i must say,more relevant nowadays, at least in my opinion.

  That's why I suggested the Pakayak. It's a modular kayak that goes down to a large suitcase (3 1/2ft by 2ft) when it's packed up, but is a 14 ft hard shell touring kayak with 2 sealed bulkheads when it's put together.
