Thanks for the HN treatment. As a followup piece, a Google response of this being "a bug". Followup story, my return rate for CC licensed images of "dog" went from 3 to 13. Last time I've checked, Creative Commons had their own search for things under their licenses. I built a niche search site [0] mainly to "scratch my own itch". It now works well enough for my own needs, but gets almost no traffic. I'm not really going to put any effort into SEO, and it is never going to get noticed/ranked without.
