  • Problem with freshly installed Discord on MicroOS
I don't understand. What is the alternative way to install codecs on a Tumbleweed/Leap system? There are instructions on how to use the Packman repositories for multimedia on opensuse.org so it is easy for one to assume that this is the recommended proper method. Source: 5 months ago
  • Something wrong with the Opensuse Leap 15.4 repositories?
That's the problem, The error messages just that. I tried to download libOpenCL.so.1 because Resolve needs that to run, and every repository my system attempts to reach fails to download. The repository (all coming from opensuse.org by the way) links appear to not have any valid metadata on them, then says the repository types can't be determined, and it moves on to the other links, which also get similar... Why not try it out? You might like it! It's not popular amongst desktops but many users who tried (including me) prefers it over Windows. I would recommend trying out OpenSUSE. You could install it on a virtual machine such as virtualbox if you don't want to affect your existing ones. Source: over 1 year ago

I tried several over the years, specifically looking for a good out of the box experience, GUI-first usage, and one that's stable over time, and after upgrades. Zorin OS fit the bill the most. I think the landing page is good as well. https://zorin.com/os/. - Source: Hacker News / 24 days ago
  • Introduction
My first Linux distro was PopOS and It was a refreshing experience. It was really easy to install, use, and game on. I distro hopped a few times to see what other linux flavors are like. These are the ones that I remember trying Zorin OS and Linux Mint. These ones looked mostly like windows and it was easy to use. • Manjaro is a free and open source Linux operating system that emphasizes privacy
ZorinOS[0] is fantastic! I switched from Ubuntu too and it was surprising how polished ZorinOS was. Everything was super stable and in the last 2 years, it didn't break by itself, which I can't say the same for Ubuntu sadly. Linux Mint too is cool but the outdated UI is the only deal breaker for me. [0] - https://zorin.com/os. - Source: Hacker News / 11 months ago
