Once you are putting information from moodle into a MySQL database you technically are creating a form of SIS, just a poorly designed one. My recommendation is to sign up for codecademy.com and create an account to learn SQL over there. Also use sqlbolt.com because both of these websites provide detailed interactive SQL tutorials that should help you write it.
