I will like it and I also recommend others to follow this platform. But there is no direct relationship with customers, high operating costs and no control over the refund policy
Amazon has best shopping experience with us. Everything in this platform is very nice. It provides best shopping experience in India, has provides biggest selections of products, books, software reach and shows best movies, latest podcasts music and everything is nice for us. I like Amazon and also refer others to follow that platform. But there is no direct customer relationship, has high operations cost and there is no control over return policies.

Have you thanked a maintainer of an open-source project you use today? If not, go ahead and reach out to them on social media and say thank you. Does that scare you a little bit? That's OK, why not share their project on social media, sponsor them on GitHub or Open Collective, write or film a tutorial, file a great bug report, pick up one of the good-first-bugs, or star their project on GitHub? These are just some... - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
There have been steps forward in the direction of making donation easier: https://github.com/sponsors , which can serve as a "fiscal host." The advantage here is that the default rule at law for how a group of developers working together will be treated is partnership, which means joint and several liability. Working with a fiscal host partitions individual liability from group liability. But there are still open... - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago

Going forward, The Odin Project will be completely funded by community donations through Open Collective. A platform designed for transparently collecting and managing funds for open-source projects just like ours. Open Collective will allow The Odin Project to secure vital financial resources directly from the community of developers and learners that benefit from the platform. - Source: dev.to / 11 months ago
Well, we could have added an intent filter for https://amazon.com/, but we obviously do not own this domain, and it would be really weird, and a major safety hazard, if the system would use our app to handle the link that points to the amazon.com domain. - Source: dev.to / 10 days ago
The voltage of mains electricity in the USA is half that of the UK, which effectively caps the power of appliances (at least those not plugged into a separate high voltage circuit). Search for fast boil kettles on amazon.co.uk and you'll get a range of 3000W options to choose from, search for the same on amazon.com and you'll return 1500W results. Source: 6 months ago

I mean, if you try to search for something simple like "buy flashlight", you get like 15 amazon.com results on the first page. So if you're trying to find a quality product from a company that specializes in making just that particular thing, so you can avoid all the Chinese sellers on amazon, you sometimes can't. Ever since I've learned about how shitty the work conditions were at amazon, I have tried to avoid... Source: 6 months ago
