Top 12 AccuWeather Alternatives For iOS You Can Use
Best AccuWeather Alternatives will be described in this article. AccuWeather is a comprehensive app for checking weather conditions and keeping tabs on forecasts, according to many of its weather app customers. Additionally, it provides total flexibility for individualized forecast tracking. With a strong freemium version on top of this, AccuWeather offers very little space...

Best weather apps for 2023
I'm not even sure how AccuWeather even made the list. It is absolutely the worst weather app in existence. It is hilariously behind on current weather (often 3 hours or so). The radar is complete trash. Hell, on more than 10 occasions l, I was looking at the app, while it was POURING outside, and the app says (not kidding) Sunny. No precip expected for at least 4 hours....

  • Ask HN: What is your best domain name?
Https://onlineornot.com - I built a cute widget for it, and eventually that turned into a business. - Source: Hacker News / 10 days ago
  • Ask HN: Website monitoring tool that will wake me up when site is down?
This kinda sounds like the tool I built: OnlineOrNot (https://onlineornot.com) It sends reminder alerts over email and SMS (and phone calls soon) until the incident is resolved. It also integrates with PagerDuty/Opsgenie/Incident.io if you want something a bit more heavy duty. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 months ago
  • Ask HN: What are you working on and why is it cool?
Most folks here are probably tired of hearing about it, but I work on https://onlineornot.com Uptime monitoring (and status pages) for software teams. In my words, the aim is "monitoring that doesn't suck" - I've worked at companies with proactive monitoring like OnlineOrNot before, and was surprised how little the incumbents are innovating in the space. One customer once told me "f*k , all their system... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • A list of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS offerings that have free tiers of interest to devops and infradev
OnlineOrNot.com - OnlineOrNot provides uptime monitoring for websites and APIs, monitoring for cron jobs and scheduled tasks. Also provides status pages. The first five checks with a 3-minute interval are free. The free tier sends alerts via Slack, Discord, and Email. - Source: dev.to / 4 months ago
  • Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2024 – Show and tell
I'm coming up on three years of running OnlineOrNot (https://onlineornot.com) in 3ish weeks. In short, I wrote about React from my own perspective for a year (despite thousands out there doing the same thing), made money, and got inspired to do the same thing with an uptime monitoring tool (200th alternative to pingdom when I released it). I turned a tool I used for convincing contracting clients to not cheap out... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago

  • January- February
Greater Cleveland usually is excellent at removing snow and treating roads, and snow storms are much less frequent, with thaws very rapid these days. Again, check accuweather.com for daily temperatures in 2023 for those days you plan on being in Cleveland. Source: 6 months ago

  • Moving to Cleveland from California beginning of 2024
Here's a useful thread for preparing for northern Ohio winters. Top suggestions IMO: drive more slowly and allow more time for travel in those now limited days with snowy, icy conditions, going is easy, stopping is hard; watch out for black ice when walking or driving; get thinsulate gloves, shoes/boots with good winter traction, knit caps, a couple zip-up hoodies for easy layering; good all season tires (check... • Do YSU's new president and board of trustees support S.B. Bill 83?
Shouldn't all YSU students be taught why 5 percent of Canadian forests were destroyed by wildfires in 2023, an area much greater than the land area of the state of NY, and about the resulting health impacts of flooding northern Ohio with high levels of fine particle pollution? How many Youngstown residents know that fine particle pollution in northern Ohio far exceeds the EPA's annual limits? (You can check... Source: 6 months ago
  • Visiting downtown Cleveland in January can be a relative bargain
I would visit Edgewater Park, Wendy Park and the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve to experience Lake Erie in winter. Be prepared to dress warmly in layers, but you also might find surprisingly good weather. Check out accuweather.com for Cleveland temperatures in January 2023. The accuweather.com forecast a week out should be relatively reliable, so pay attention to cancellation fees in the unlikely... Source: 7 months ago
