Hey! I know exactly what you mean: de-scrambling sentences and lists because of those damn columns sucks, but being blind, and with relatively few pdf, text, doc, etc, or interactive cyoas, it's complicated. My experience is, the drive to doc technique is probably the best, but onlineocr.net isn't bad either: on really hard conversions, I use both. The best OCR I have come across on the internet is the one on onlineocr.net however its page limit makes its paid version not worth buying. Do you have access to Microsoft products? They have an appthat students can add to a device that will translate your spoken words into text (you have to have the app or website open as well). There are several other Microsoft translation tools that would also work in different ways, which you may be able to use without a Microsoft license.
