  • How do i write this repetition structure with volta brackets and without a coda?
Unfortunatly, I am writing music for someone that isn't comfortable with codas. Therefore, I tried to use voltas only (example 2 and 3). In example 2, the music goes like in example 1 all the way to D. The D.S. Al coda is replaced with a repetition bracket at the end of D, bringing the music back to B while still in the same bracket sequence. Eventually, the music comes to E, where I wrote a closed volta bracket... Source: over 1 year ago
  • I'm a mobile composer who's poor, and the app i use for composing music's trial is going ti end
There aren't really any good ones for mobile. Are you sure you aren't willing to try composing on PC or Mac? There are quite a few good resources on computer that are completely free. Musescore is the most prominent one that is free to use, however, there is also one called Finale Notepad. It's meant to be a free demo to convince people to use their full version. The demo isn't limited though. It doesn't expire.... Source: almost 3 years ago

  • Does anyone know how I can get a sample cleared from this record label. It’s very old and there’s no contact info anywhere
Have you checked out tracklib.com? It's what I recommend to all my students for sampling. It's a huge catalog of vintage samples from major artists going back to the 50s and 60s, all pre-cleared. You might spend $50- $500 upfront to clear a sample and some percentage of your royalties, but worth it if your track ever blows up, you won't be dreading a lawsuit that will wipe away all your revenue. • How do people add to samples?
For finding melodies tracklib.com has alot of old soul rap jazz electronic really any type of music to find samples. Source: over 1 year ago
  • taking a few hours just searching for samples, thoughts
All that said, tracklib.com is wonderful. Can't recommend it enough. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Should I send rappers beats with uncleared samples?
Keep in mind if you didn't pay for a license to use a sample from tracklib.com's library of pre-cleared samples (I don't think any other website is offering this) then you're unable to clear the sample as a producer because the artist you're sampling would need to hear the lyrical content of the finished song to make their decision/negotiate.
