  • Is javascript always bad?
Good or bad depends on the intentions of the website you're visiting, and unfortunately also of the many 3rd party script sources it includes. Users should have a chance to decide which sites they trust to run JavaScript and which they do not, and this is the reason why 18 years ago I've created NoScript, and why it is still there and shipped by default inside the Tor Browser. • PSA: We're all ripe for phishing attempts while looking for Reddit alternatives
Use a different name, password, and email if you can. Keep an adblocker and noscript handy. Don't accept cookies from new sites. Maybe even use the TOR browser for better anonymity and safety while you're giving these new platforms a test run. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Browsing the web with JavaScript turned off?
I do (with the NoScript browser extension: https://noscript.net/). The main reason is to reduce my attack surface. A secondary benefit is it eliminates most ads and other annoying distractions. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago

Bromite mentions (4)

  • New Firefox privacy feature strips URLs of tracking parameters
Firefox + uBlock Origin on mobile is great but Bromite is the way to go. Faster, more secure and built-in ad-blocking. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Stop it Reddit
Why are you using chrome though? Chrome, google app and facebook are literally the biggest trackers you need to block. Try firefox or it's forks (fennec/mull) or bromite. Bromite is based on chromium so it will be an easy switch. I personally use fennec f-droid (a fork of firefox) which is available on f-droid. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Breeze Browsers.
Cookie AutoDelete can be replaced with an always-on incognito mode similar to what Bromite has. Though I can understand keeping this one in as it gives finer control over cookies than incognito mode. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Import bookmarks into Vanadium browser?
I don't think you can do that at the moment. Bromite has an import/export bookmarks feature but I don't know if you will be able to import your existing file. Source: almost 3 years ago
