I've been trying for over a year to find an app that unlock my Hackintosh (and MBP) with my phone or other blueprint when I get near it (and lock it when I walk away). I have a Whoop band so an Apple Watch isn't an option right now (until they add BP monitoring and my Whoop sub runs out at least). I found Near Lock and nearly cried with joy. One thing I've found very very useful when I just want to send a short text or a link from PC to phone is to use a QR code generator. I've used this so often that I've installed a firefox plugin to generate QR codes offline: https://github.com/rugk/offline-qr-code. Source: about 2 years ago

On my Linux-/Windows-PC I use firefoxplugin QR & Barcode Generator. The QR-Code-Window shows the current browser URL as QR-Code but you can type in any text that immediately converted to QR-Code. Source: about 2 years ago
