Mimo Reviews

  1. Mimo The Minimalistic looking app

been using mimo for a time and finished Python course as a noob, i can say it's a good experience since they made the course like having a bike with third wheel which is great for home learners, your brain not ready to debug something you don't know, that stage also is tought as a last lesson, how to debug your program, my experience was all in all great, and this coming from me a Lazy Person :)

👍 Pros:    Easy to use|Solid learning method|Repetitive questions explaination|Constantly improving
    👎 Cons:    English language only

  • Ask HN: What are ethical companies like Patagonia and some digital counterparts?
Thanks! Yes, Booklet is where I spend most of my time. I think it's a big opportunity to have more of a hosted Discourse alternative. I'll work on some comparison pages - thanks for the suggestion. > Is it enough to live off of? I do a little bit of consulting [1] , which bridges the gap. That way, I'm not losing money building the company. Though, all of my products make revenue, and things are doing well in... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago

  • Is the Cybersecurity World Ready for Fractional Roles? (We Think Yes)
Hey Reddit community, Having worked in IT Audit (I mostly audit SaaS companies) for quite some time, I've noticed an interesting puzzle. A lot of small to medium-sized businesses seem to lack dedicated security or compliance roles. Essential tasks get scattered across teams without much oversight and strategy. Sometimes, consulting firms step in, establish necessary controls, formulate policies (you know, to get... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Will a platform built on a NoCode platform be taken seriously by investors/incubators?
A company I loved https://moonlightwork.com/ (which is a shell of its former self) was built with nocode platforms, and then sold for a big chunk of money. The new owner let it fall to shit almost immediately by not seeking out the same high quality leads. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Ask HN: Freelancer? Seeking freelancer? (October 2022)
SEEKING WORK - Freelance/Contract - Remote from US I like working with early-stage startups as they work through ambiguous and difficult technical + product problems. I can manage end-to-end web app development from scratch, including product definition, backend + frontend development, and basic design. I'm a serial founder who's built and sold multiple companies (like https://moonlightwork.com), and I've held... - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
