  • My iOS Remote App can control TV volume, but not ATV volume. My ATV can control TV volume, however. Why is that?
    Yea, it's annoying. The reason is that the iPhone doesn't have an IR emitter and that's the way a lot of devices are controlled with the remote. I wish they'd allow devices with CEC to be controlled with the remote app, it's certainly possible. My very rough-around-the-edges desktop Apple TV remote project sends volume up / down commands, but it only changes the volume when a Bluetooth device or HomePod is connected.
