I like the idea of YouTube serving as a search engine and an entertaining feat
Based on our record, YouTube seems to be a lot more popular than Minds. While we know about 1741 links to YouTube, we've tracked only 1 mention of Minds. We are tracking product recommendations and mentions on various public social media platforms and blogs. They can help you identify which product is more popular and what people think of it.
There are other projects like minds.com which is also starting to catch some attention. My biggest concern is that the big tech companies catch these trends and start to more actively censor their search results or in other way hinder their growth such as lobbying for stricter regulation to take out any competition. I discovered “Developer Voices” recently https://youtube.com/@DeveloperVoices. It’s more a podcast style channel, with a different guest on each episode with experience in a different area of tech/computer science they discuss. No memes, no click bake, no how to be a tech lead just mixed varied interesting computer science content/topics. Sounds like an education problem ? This kind of spam is an annoyance, but you learn to filter it out soon enough. Stack Overflow is a great example : its value is not so much in giving you a quick answer, but even more because you will see several answers, and the discussion around them.
