Your argument is equivalent (in encryption terms) to complaining that Apple have a monopoly over over HTTPS/TLS certs that verify the identity of apple.com and that it's unfair that they don't let other companies pretend to be the real Apple website. Source: 6 months ago

You can also get it online, Either from apple.com or Pchome or momo. Both are authorized online resellers of apple. I bought my both phone, One 3 years ago (form apple) and one just yesterday (from Pchome) and few of my friends have done the same and had no problems whatsoever till date.
