Please see configuration instructions here: https://ghost.org/docs/config/#mail - remember there are two lots of mail setting in Ghost. Transactional emails are sent through SMTP and bulk email newsletters are set via Mailgun's API which you can configure in the Ghost dashboard (Mailgun is the only option for this).
