  • Launch HN: Paigo (YC S22) – Measure and bill SaaS customers based on usage
I'm curious how you'd compare yourselves to https://metronome.com which is another player in the space? - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago
  • Why billing systems are a nightmare for engineers
Great article and excited to see another solution tackling the complex problem of billing. I’m an founding engineer at https://metronome.com (building usage-based billing infrastructure) and definitely echo the sentiments shared here — building a billing system that can scale is no small feat and anyone who previously built billing in-house can attest to just how painful that is. - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • How do finance teams at SaaS companies track account usage for billing?
Metronome is aimed at this problem from what I’ve read. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Help a noob out - Any tutorials or projects on how to make this "data streaming" effect? Is it even called that? I've been looking everywhere!
Nope, the animations are from here: https://metronome.com/. Source: over 2 years ago

  • Show HN: I built a little online drum machine using 808 style samples
I would highly recommend enabling click and drag to "paint" notes. As it is right now, if I want 16 closed hats, I have to move, click, 16 times. I'd rather drag to paint based on whatever state of the note I start on. The mutes on the left would be better if they mute the notes, not the sounds. Muting and then enabling can end up playing the tail of some of the longer sounds. This isn't typically how you want... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago

  • Best music production program for making beats?
If that’s just about making beats, a Roland TR8 is awesome for that. Or even a Teenage Engineering PO Rythm, a jumbee or make https://io808.com his homepage. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Trying to figure out this 808 drumbeat sound from " Marvin Gaye" by Charlie Puth
In fact, try it right now. Go to https://io808.com/ . Set the tempo dial to 3. For the bass drum (BD), enable steps 1, 7 and 8. For the snare drum (SD), enable steps 9, 15 and 16. Source: almost 3 years ago
  • Zoom Escaper: self-sabotage audio, making your presence unbearable to others
Also of note that Firefox's Web Audio API implementation just isn't very good in general. It's my daily driver, but I won't run Airsonic in it, because after half an hour or so the music reliably starts glitching. Fine in every other client, so it's definitely a Firefox thing, and iO-808 [1] also calls it out in an alert if you go there in Firefox. Granted, a glitchy audio implementation might be just the thing... - Source: Hacker News / about 3 years ago
